EID KA CHAND
CHAND RAAT
(Bengali: চার তাত),
(Urdu: Urdu اند رات),
(Hindi: Night);
Literally moon night) is a Bengali and Urdu-Hindi place used for the eve of the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India; It can also mean a night with a new moon for the new Islamic month of Shawwal. Chand Rawat is a time of celebration when family and friends gather in open areas at the end of the last day of Ramadan, which celebrates the Amavasya and marks the arrival of the Islamic month on Eid. Once the moon is seen, people give each other Chand Rat Mubarak ("A blessed night of Amavasya") or Eid Mubarak ("blessing of Eid day"). Women and girls decorate their hands with mehndi and people prepare sweets for the next day of Eid and do the last round of shopping.
The city streets have a festive atmosphere, and the brightly decorated malls and markets remain open till late at night.
Chand Rawat is celebrated by Muslims all over South Asia (and sometimes as non-Muslims) and in socio-cultural significance, with celebration and passion, comparable to Christmas Eve.
Edit derivation
A Chand Rath Festival in Hyderabad, India
The word is derived from the Sanskrit word moon night.
Edit background
The Chand Rawat festival takes place on the eve of Eid ul-Fitr, which is celebrated on 1 Shawwal. The beginning of an Islamic month depends on the first sight of the lunar crescent and thus the month of Ramadan can be 29 or 30 days.
Amavasya is announced by the Ruit-e-Hilal Committee and Chand Raat takes place on the same evening (the day the first moon of the month of Shawwal is celebrated). As the exact day of Eid ul-Fitr depends on the sighting of the moon, the Chand Rath on Eid ul-Fitr is considered more festive than Eid ul-Adha, which is already well known.
Edit fest
The announcement is made from mosques, television channels and radio stations as soon as the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announces the sighting of Amavasya. The celebration begins almost immediately and continues throughout the night until the Fajr prayer is held in the morning. Entire families move to local markets, markets and shopping malls.
Women usually buy items like shalwar kameez, bangles, jewelery and bags while men mostly focus on shoes. Gifts and sweets are brought to friends while toys are brought for children. Barbaric shops and beauty parlors are also heavily visited in the evening in preparation for the next day. Women and girls also decorate their hands with mehndi. Decorative lighting is done in markets and government buildings, mosques. Chand Rawat also gives people a chance to meet with friends and extended family.
Moon night on the next day and eid is celebrated again on the day of eid all Muslim brothers wear good new clothes do not make sweets and give your neighbors your relatives...
