EID KA CHAND
CHAND RAAT (Bengali: চার তাত), (Urdu: Urdu اند رات), (Hindi: Night); Literally moon night) is a Bengali and Urdu-Hindi place used for the eve of the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India; It can also mean a night with a new moon for the new Islamic month of Shawwal. Chand Rawat is a time of celebration when family and friends gather in open areas at the end of the last day of Ramadan, which celebrates the Amavasya and marks the arrival of the Islamic month on Eid. Once the moon is seen, people give each other Chand Rat Mubarak ("A blessed night of Amavasya") or Eid Mubarak ("blessing of Eid day"). Women and girls decorate their hands with mehndi and people prepare sweets for the next day of Eid and do the last round of shopping.
